Welcome to Counterpoint, John and Lynn Ross. We are located in Vanscoy, Saskatchewan.
Counterpoint was established in 1967, with the birth of John's first litter - silver Minature Poodles. We have, over the years, been home to Saluki, Afghans, Brussels Griffon and now exclusively Whippets.
We have been long time members of the Hub City Kennel Club, serving in various capacities. John has also served as a Canadian Kennel Club Director, is a past President of the Saluki Club of Canada, and is a CKC All Breed Judge, and currently enjoys judging in North America and abroad. On the Judging page, there are some of the special pictures received over the years.
Because family (two children, David and Kathy) took priority, there have never been a great many litters bred - our average is less than 1 litter per year. Obviously, quality, not quantity, has been our goal. Many of our dogs of all three breeds were high in their respective breed standings, and in Canada's "Top Dog" awards.
We recently moved from the city to a home on acreage, which allows John to ride at his leisure, and the dogs to free-run as much as they want (in between naps on the couch).
Riding and driving occupy a great deal of my leisure time. (And yes, I do normally wear a crash helmet--the day I remember the camera, I forget my helmet!)
